Petra University wins third place and the Best Idea in Community Service at the 2025 World English Language Olympiad for Univers

Khaberni - Petra University secured the third position in the "Community Service" category, in addition to winning the "Best Community Service Idea" award, within the activities of the World English Language Olympiad for Universities 2025, launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with "Masa" International Testing Company.

The winning teams were honored during the closing ceremony of the Olympiad, which was patronized by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the participation of 58 teams representing 24 Jordanian and Arab higher education institutions from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Palestine, and Bahrain, under the theme "Sports".

Petra University’s team "Valenor" achieved third place in the community service category with their project "Triad Sportopedia", which focused on teaching English through various sports skills, including functional, mental, and neurological sports. The team included students: Sarah Qawta, Saba Awad, Sarah Zaatreh, Lin Mohannad, and Maya Al-Sayed, supervised by their coach Dr. Alaa Al-Qutaishat.

The team "Vetra" from Petra University won the "Best Community Service – Idea Comprehension" award for a project aimed at promoting sports tourism in Jordan. The team members were: Eizen Al-Hakim, Aya Abdullah, Tala Gousheh, Jana Al-Jamal, and Munther Abu Salim, supervised by the coach Dr. Saddam Al-Taweese, and monitored by the university’s liaison officer Dr. Lazurd Al-Sagheer.

The organizing committee of the Olympiad honored the President of Petra University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, in appreciation of the university's role as a successful partner in organizing the Olympiad, and its continuous support for outstanding student initiatives.

It is noted that the College of Arts and Sciences at Petra University supervised the preparation and training of students, under the dean of the college, Professor Dr. Mahmoud Al-Salman, and with the participation of an academic team specializing from the Departments of English Language and Educational Sciences
