Amman Arab University explores enhancing training and research cooperation with the Royal Geographical Center

Khaberni - Brigadier Engineer Muammar Kamel Haddadin, Director General of the Jordanian Royal Geographical Center, received a delegation from Amman Arab University headed by Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Reham Al-Asmar, Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering, Ms. Mai Jaradat, Director of the Consultancy and Training Center, and Dr. Kamal Haddad, a faculty member of the Faculty of Engineering at the university, with the attendance of Dr. Hanna Sabat, Director of Scientific Affairs and Training, Dr. Ammar Al-Sakaji, Head of Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Qais Al-Omari, Head of the Training Department from the Jordanian Royal Geographical Center. This comes within the framework of enhancing scientific and research cooperation between Amman Arab University and national institutions, aiming to boost cooperation in the field of training and to establish a productive partnership between the Faculty of Engineering at Amman Arab University and the Royal Geographical Center, which contributes to the exchange of scientific expertise, support for joint research projects, and providing quality training and scientific opportunities for the college students in the fields of engineering, urban planning, meteorology, and geographical surveying.
In this context, Dr. Al-Assaf explained that the visit came as part of exploring the advanced capabilities and services offered by the Royal Geographical Center, and discussing several axes and recommendations aimed at enhancing future cooperation, which included developing joint training programs for the university students in the fields of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and implementing joint research projects that support innovation in urban design and environmental sustainability. Dr. Al-Assaf also emphasized the importance of exchanging scientific and technical expertise between the faculty members and specialists at the center, and organizing joint workshops and scientific seminars to introduce students to the latest technologies and applications in the fields of geography and engineering.
Dr. Al-Assaf also stressed during the visit the significance of this strategic partnership with the Royal Geographical Center, for its direct impact on enhancing the practical experience of students, linking academic aspects to practical application, which contributes to preparing qualified engineering cadres capable of meeting the requirements of the job market, emphasizing that this partnership enhances the role of Amman Arab University in serving the community and the national sector, and supports its orientation towards openness to leading national institutions, and employing academic knowledge in addressing sustainable development issues.
In turn, Engineer Haddadin highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation with Amman Arab University, confirming that the Jordanian Royal Geographical Center is particularly interested in building strategic partnerships with academic institutions, stemming from its national role in supporting scientific research and technical development paths, and clarified that the center possesses advanced infrastructure and specialized technical expertise in the fields of Geographic Information Systems, aerial and ground surveying, and meteorology, and that it is ready to employ these capabilities to serve the students and researchers, contributing to enhancing their practical efficiency and application capabilities, focusing on the importance of employing modern technology and accurate geographic data in supporting development projects and sustainable planning, noting that cooperation with the university constitutes an important step towards preparing a generation of engineers capable of dealing with the latest globally recognized technologies and systems, and which enhances the integration between the academic sector and specialized national institutions.
