Iran Nuclear facilities damaged but technologies are available

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged that the nuclear facilities were significantly damaged due to the American bombing targeting them last June, yet he reported that «nuclear technologies» are still present.

Contact with the American Envoy

Araghchi stated in media statements that he had been in direct contact with the American special envoy Steve Whitkoff to negotiate the nuclear program months before the strikes.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that his country's main issue with Iran lies in its desire to acquire nuclear weapons.

Rubio noted that this is not the only issue.

Tehran has repeatedly confirmed that it does not seek to acquire nuclear weapons, but it has refused to be prevented from acquiring nuclear knowledge and enriching uranium for peaceful purposes.

Development of ballistic missiles

The Iranian President Masoud Barzagan repeatedly emphasized that his country does not seek nuclear weapons. He considered the demand for his country to stop developing ballistic missiles unacceptable, especially after the attack Israel launched in June last year during the 12-day war.

He said: «We have repeatedly and repeatedly stated that we do not seek to possess a nuclear bomb, and that we are ready for any verification process by the atomic agency». He emphasized that Tehran seeks peace but will not accept dominance, according to him.

Return of the IAEA inspectors

The International Atomic Energy Agency announced in reports that uranium enrichment in Iran, which exceeded 65%, was nearing the degree to acquire a nuclear bomb. It asked for the return of its inspectors to Iran after the Iranian authorities stopped dealing with the agency since last July, i.e., one month after the end of the Israeli war.

Washington and Tehran conducted 5 rounds of negotiations to return to the nuclear agreement, but while the Iranian delegation was preparing for a sixth round, Israel launched raids on nuclear and military sites in Iran, and later the United States joined in the attacks.
