America Deploys a Third Aircraft Carrier in the Middle East

Khaberni - U.S. officials announced the deployment of the American Nimitz-class aircraft carrier "USS George H.W. Bush," along with its accompanying squadrons, to the Middle East, to join the "USS Abraham Lincoln" and "USS Gerald R. Ford" in the region.

The U.S. Navy stated that the carrier left the Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia on Tuesday and it is expected to take several weeks to reach the Middle East, according to the "Wall Street Journal".

The Lincoln carrier is currently operating in the Arabian Sea, while the Ford is in a Croatian port undergoing repairs.

This movement comes as U.S. President Donald Trump considers additional military options towards Iran, amid a strengthening of U.S. forces in the region, including the deployment of a Marine unit aboard amphibious ships in the Middle East over the weekend.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday the arrival of the amphibious assault ship "USS Tripoli" to the Middle East, amid increasing speculation about the potential deployment of U.S. ground forces in Iran.

The U.S. Command via the X platform stated that the ship, typically based in Japan, arrived in the region on Friday, noting that this helicopter carrier leads a group comprising about 3,500 sailors and marines.

The statement, accompanied by four images, added that the group also includes transport and combat aircraft, in addition to amphibious assault equipment.
