Green Walls and Health through Parametric Design A Specialized Lecture for Architecture Students at Amman Arab University

As part of the College of Engineering's ongoing commitment at Amman Arab University to integrating theoretical aspects with practical and applied perspectives, and enhancing the practical knowledge of architecture department students, and developing their skills in the areas of sustainable design, and following the directions of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, the president of the university, under the continuous supervision of Dr. Anu Al-Assaf, the dean of the College of Engineering, the Department of Architecture held a lecture titled: "Green Walls and Health through Parametric Design," presented by Dr. Rawan Jafar from the University of the West of England (UWE) , aimed at enhancing the practical knowledge of architecture students and developing their skills in the areas of sustainable design.

Dr. Rawan provided a detailed explanation to familiarize students with the latest research trends in computational design (Computational Design) and parametric modeling techniques, and their role in enhancing the quality of the urban environment and promoting health and well-being within built spaces, she also covered the concept of green walls from a scientific and practical perspective, explaining their impact on improving indoor air quality, enhancing thermal comfort, and supporting mental and physical health of building occupants..

The lecture featured interactive discussions between the lecturer and the students, characterized by the presentation of real-life examples and advanced research models that helped broaden their understanding of how to employ digital tools in sustainability, and connecting academic knowledge with contemporary design solutions, thus enhancing what students acquire within their courses on design and the urban environment, by presenting new concepts directly related to modern architectural practices..

At the end of the lecture, Dr. Al-Assaf expressed his gratitude to Dr. Rawan Jafar for her active participation and valuable lecture, which represented a qualitative addition to the academic environment and enriched the students' experience. He also stated that the College of Engineering at Amman Arab University continues its commitment to hosting experts and researchers, in support of its mission to enhance the quality of education and scientific research, and to solidify the position of Amman Arab University as a leading institution in the fields of engineering and architecture.
