Khaberni - The commander of the Jordanian Field Hospital force in southern Gaza/8, Colonel Salman Al-Akkalik, said that the emergency room at the Tel al-Hawa Hospital was activated immediately upon its operation last Wednesday, having received a total of 98 emergency cases so far.
Al-Akkalik added in a statement to "Khaberni" that the Tel al-Hawa Hospital was initially activated by equipping the emergency room and the operating department, and that the rest of the specialty departments and specialist clinics will soon be activated after completing their setup.
Al-Akkalik pointed out that one of the most significant challenges faced by the hospital teams was preparing the necessary clinics to receive patients, which was successfully accomplished to ensure the provision of effective medical care.
The Jordanian Armed Forces began on Wednesday the re-operation of the Jordanian Field Hospital in the Tel al-Hawa area north of the Gaza Strip, after completing maintenance and equipment work recently.
In its initial phase, the hospital began receiving emergency and critical cases, with plans to gradually expand the services provided to include specialty clinics, the laboratory, and the radiology department, which will help alleviate the significant pressure the health sector in northern Gaza Strip is experiencing.
The hospital had suffered damages due to the conditions and field developments last September, which prevented patients and visitors from reaching it, necessitating the relocation of its staff towards southern Gaza Strip until security conditions improved.
A comprehensive technical evaluation was then conducted, followed by repair and maintenance work on the buildings and medical equipment, aiming to ensure their full readiness to receive patients and provide the necessary medical and therapeutic services.
The medical and nursing staff will continue to perform their humanitarian duties despite the challenges and difficulties, within the framework of the relief role undertaken by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and its constant commitment to supporting the Palestinian brothers and alleviating their suffering.
