Khaberni - The Ministry of Local Administration reviewed reports from the Meteorological Department and incoming weather maps under the early warning system agreement, indicating that some regions of the kingdom today, Monday, are affected by a low-pressure system. It is expected to be accompanied by thunder showers that might lead to wadi stream flows and potential flash floods, necessitating an elevated level of preparedness in several areas under the municipalities of the Karak and Tafilah governorates.
The weather maps showed that the risk level would be high in the municipal areas of: Greater Karak, Sheehan, Mutah and Al-Mazar, Greater Tafilah, Bseira, Al-Qadsiyah, and pointed to specific locations where the risk level appears low, indicated on the maps in green.
The Ministry confirmed that it had distributed the new maps to the heads of municipal committees, municipal affairs directors, and the heads of joint services councils, urging them to monitor critical sites on the ground and ensure the readiness of wadis, flood channels, channels, box culverts, pipe culverts, and stormwater drains.
The Ministry advised residents in the areas indicated in yellow to exercise caution and avoid wadi and flood channels, not to risk crossing roads exposed to flooding, and to follow the instructions issued by the relevant authorities to preserve public safety.
