Khaberni - This week, the stars of the famous "Friends" series came together in a touching initiative to honor their late colleague Matthew Perry, who died two years ago in October (October) 2023 at the age of 54.
Participants included Jennifer Aniston, aged 56, Courteney Cox aged 61, Matt LeBlanc aged 58, Lisa Kudrow aged 62, and David Schwimmer aged 59, who signed on a unique art collection aimed at raising charity funds during the holiday season.
Inspired by the song
The Matthew Perry Foundation posted pictures on its "Instagram" account showing each actor signing colorful art pieces inspired by the sound waves of the famous show's theme song.
This endeavor is in collaboration with the "Soundwaves Art" foundation and artist Tim Wakefield, where the images showed behind-the-scenes additions of the actors' signatures on limited edition artworks that transformed the actual sound waves of the "Friends" theme song into stunning visual designs.
The signed copies are sold for $600, while the unsigned copies are priced at $100.
Proceeds to support addiction fighting
The foundation commented on the post saying that the artist transformed the real sound waves of the series' song into beautiful designs, each inspired by a different character, and each actor signed a small special set for themselves.
In collaboration with Matthew Perry's properties, the foundation produced a very limited series of art pieces carrying his official signature.
All profits will go to support charities chosen by the actors, including the Matthew Perry Foundation and its work in helping those struggling with addiction.
Perry played the beloved character "Chandler Bing" in the successful comedic series and died in October (October) 2023 after being found unconscious in a hot tub at his home in Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles.
The autopsy results revealed that the actor died due to the acute effects of ketamine, and he had openly discussed his decades-long struggle with addiction in his memoirs in 2022.
The Matthew Perry Foundation was established after his death to honor the actor's ongoing commitment to helping others fight addiction, and the foundation's website features one of his most important quotes where he said that when he dies, he does not want the "Friends" series to be the first thing remembered about him, but rather his help to others should be the foremost.
