Media reports confirmed that Al Ahly of Egypt backed away from completing a strong deal during the upcoming winter transfer period.
Egyptian media personality Ahmed Shoubair spoke about the position of Al Ahly's officials regarding finalizing the deal of striker Yazan Al-Naymat, star of the Jordan national team, after his injury during the match against Iraq in the Arab Cup quarterfinals.
Shoubair clarified on Facebook: "Yazan Al-Naymat's deal is now threatened with failure after the player's injury with an ACL tear, and alternatives are currently being considered".
Yazan Al-Naymat suffered an ACL tear, confirming the player's absence from the fields for an extended period, according to the announcement by the Jordan Football Association after Al-Naymat underwent thorough medical examinations and radiographic images.
Al-Naymat was among the names Al Ahly prioritized to bolster their attacking line in January, before his injury led to the complete closure of negotiations and the club's direction to look for other options.
