Khaberni - Urban architecture and design consultant, Dr. Murad Al-Klaldeh, proposed the establishment of the new Tafilah city to serve as a growth center linking the desert road and Tafilah over an area of 230 square kilometers, situated between the new road and the road from Jurf Al-Darawish leading to the city of Tafilah. This area is characterized by its central location to regions with promising spatial, agricultural, and existing industrial features in Aabour where the Tafilah Industrial City, wind energy projects in Grendel, therapeutic tourism in Afra Baths near Sil Al-Hasa, and educational facilities at Tafilah Technical University are located.
The proposed site is adjacent to the desert road and acts as a logistical hub for land and future rail transport to reach Aqaba Port and Madawara, our gateway to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the location is not far from Al-Karak, descending to Ghor Fifa and Ghor Al-Safi to reach the Dead Sea, which forms a growth center for potash industries, thereby creating a development axis that links between Tafilah, Al-Karak, and the Dead Sea.
