Jordan Directing municipalities to increase readiness to deal with the weather on Thursday

Khaberni - The Ministry of Local Administration has reviewed the reports of the Meteorological Department and the weather maps received according to the early warning system agreement, which indicated an atmospheric depression expected to affect all regions of the kingdom tomorrow, Thursday, accompanied by heavy thunder rains in several areas.
The weather maps showed that the level of danger will be high from 2 pm on Thursday until midnight, and at a high pace, especially in the capital Amman and Balqa, Madaba, and Karak, in addition to specific sites shown on the map in red.
The weather forecast explains that the heaviest rainfall will be in Karak, Madaba, south of the capital, and areas of the municipalities of Shuna al-Wusta, Sweimeh, Naour, Hisban, Umm al-Basatin, Jabal Bani Hamida, Abdallah ibn Rawaha, Shihaan, Ayy, Deir Alla, and Maadi, all classified as high-risk areas due to the potential for significant and dangerous valley and flash floods.
The ministry confirmed that it has circulated the new maps to the heads of the municipal committees, directors of municipal affairs, and heads of joint services councils, calling for field monitoring of critical sites, verifying the readiness of valleys, flood channels, box and pipe culverts, and stormwater drains, emphasizing that any negligence in implementing required measures or monitoring critical sites will expose the negligent parties to accountability.
It should be noted that the ministry previously directed the necessity of opening emergency rooms and direct coordination with administrative governors, civil defense, and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing; to ensure the highest levels of readiness and protect the lives and properties of citizens.
The ministry has called on citizens in areas indicated in red and yellow to take caution and care, avoid flood channels and valleys, and not risk crossing roads exposed to flooding, and to follow the instructions issued by the relevant authorities to maintain public safety.
