Nawaf AlAjarmah We are considering introducing Chinese language into our government curricula

Khaberni - Today, Wednesday, Dr. Nawaf Al-Ajarmah, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education for Educational Affairs, discussed with Yu Tian Chi, the Deputy General Director of the Center for Cooperation in the Field of Foreign Languages affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education, the frameworks of joint cooperation between the two sides and enhancing the opportunities to include the Chinese language in the educational programs in the schools of the Kingdom.

During the meeting, Al-Ajarmah emphasized the ministry's keenness on expanding international cooperation which contributes to developing the students’ skills and opening new areas for cultural and academic communication.

He added that the Chinese language is already being taught in a number of private schools in the Kingdom, pointing out that the Ministry will consider introducing the Chinese language in a number of public schools, stemming from its direction to diversify foreign language options in a way that keeps up with global changes and future needs.

On her part, Chi highlighted that the Chinese language is taught in 190 countries, including 80 Arab countries, and referred to the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom’s eagerness for joint cooperation to teach the Chinese language in the Kingdom’s schools.

Chi and the accompanying delegation expressed their appreciation for the existing cooperation between the two countries and their readiness to support educational programs by providing experts, teachers, and the necessary educational materials, in addition to enhancing cultural and academic exchange between the two countries.
