Kate Winslet Attacks Cosmetic Surgeries Describing Them as a Terrifying Destructive Epidemic

Khaberni - British actress Kate Winslet attacked what she described as the "terrifying and destructive epidemic" of cosmetic surgeries, sharply criticizing the proliferation of weight loss drugs, and considering that an entire generation of girls has lost "the real concept of beauty".

In a press interview, the 50-year-old "Titanic" star expressed her shock at the growing popularity of cosmetic injections, which she said have started to give women the same appearance. She added: "It's terrifying and destructive. If a person's self-confidence is only tied to their looks, that's a very scary thing," according to "pagesix".

Misunderstanding of Self
Winslet said she enjoys seeing actresses "wear what they want and in different forms," but on the other hand, she pointed out that "many" resort to weight loss drugs, considering this phenomenon reflects a misunderstanding of self.

She continued: "Some people make decisions to be themselves, and others do whatever they can to avoid being themselves. Do they even know what they are injecting into their bodies? Ignoring health is terrifying, the situation is out of control."

The famous actress did not spare her colleagues from criticism, as she expressed her frustration with "all the damn actresses," as she put it, and also attacked "non-celebrities who save money for Botox or the substances they inject into their lips."

She also reaffirmed that she has never undergone any cosmetic procedure.

She noted that "the most beautiful women" she knows are over seventy years old, but what bothers her is that today's young women "have no idea about the meaning of real beauty."

Social Media Platforms
Winslet blamed this reality on social media platforms and their impact on mental health, considering that they have driven millions to pursue an "ideal image" that does not reflect reality. She said: "It's horrifying, no one looks at the real world anymore."

Winslet's new statements remind us of her previous stances, as she had declared to Harper’s Bazaar UK in September (September) 2024 that "women become more beautiful as they age," noting that facial features "settle better on our bones and gain more history and life."
