The judiciary concludes the case of Nadia El Gendi and Ferial Yousef with a ruling in favor of the latter

Khaberni - In one of the prominent cases that occupied the artistic circles in Egypt, the Cairo Economic Misdemeanor Court issued a final ruling acquitting the artist Ferial Yousef of the charges of defamation and libel raised against her by the artist Nadia El Gendi. The case, which garnered widespread interest and carried case number 2415 of 2026 economic misdemeanors, saw a controversial ending.

The ruling came to put an end to a prolonged legal and media conflict that involved a harsh exchange of accusations and statements before it was definitively resolved by the judiciary.

Television statements ignited the crisis
The crisis began with a previous media appearance by Ferial Yousef, during her hosting in the program "One of the People" presented by the media personality Amr El-Leithy, where she spoke candidly about her experiences in her artistic career.

During the interview, she recalled her memories with the TV show "Asrar", which aired in 2015, confirming that she did not receive her full financial entitlements for participating in the project, which was produced by a company owned by Nadia El Gendi.

These statements reopened an old file, which was thought to have been closed for years, turning the case from a mere artistic complaint into a public dispute that escalated quickly.

Fiery response and widespread media escalation
Nadia El Gendi did not delay in responding to Ferial Yousef’s statements, coming out with sharp media statements that were widely circulated across various platforms, which contributed to fueling the controversy even further.

Ferial Yousef regarded these responses as exceeding the bounds of legitimate artistic disagreement, reaching a level of personal insult and defamation, especially with accusations related to her professional conduct during filming.

This media escalation pushed the crisis to a new curve, no longer just a difference in opinions, but turned into a public dispute that later evolved into a legal direction.

Legal action and an official report to the Attorney General
In a decisive step, Ferial Yousef resorted to the judiciary, where she filed an official report with the Attorney General, through her lawyer, Counselor Sherif Hafez, supported by a number of evidence, including video recordings and press material documenting the contentious statements.

She indicated in her report that what was issued by Nadia El Gendi falls under libel and defamation, as it includes accusations that affect her artistic and personal reputation.

Based on this, the report was referred to the investigating authorities, where the Fifth Settlement Prosecution handled the case, and it was registered under number 82 of the year 2025 economic misdemeanors, initiating the official investigation journey.

Narrative investigations and exchange of accusations
During the investigations, Ferial Yousef appeared before the public prosecution and presented her statements confirming that she suffered psychological and professional harm due to the statements that targeted her.

She clarified that her accusation of absenteeism from filming and causing work disruption is a direct insult to her artistic career, especially as it may affect her chances of participating in future works.

Conversely, the prosecution summoned the artist Nadia El Gendi to hear her statements, where she responded to the accusations against her, within the frame of legal procedures, amid intensive media coverage of the case details.

The judicial ruling settles the controversy
After reviewing the case files and hearing from both parties, the court issued its ruling acquitting Ferial Yousef of the charges attributed to her, thus ending one of the most controversial cases in the artistic circle in recent times.

The judgment was considered a decisive point, reinstating legal normalcy, and putting an end to the speculations that lasted for a long period about the fate of the case.

The TV series "Asrar".. the backdrop of the crisis
The TV series "Asrar" is considered the main starting point of the crisis, where the work gathered a cast of drama stars, including Nadia El Gendi, Ferial Yousef, Abeer Sabry, Ezzat Abu Auf, and Ahmed Said Abdel Ghany, along with a large number of artists.

The work, written by Ahmed Sobhy and directed by Wael Fahmy Abdel Hamid, achieved good viewership rates at the time of its showing, revolving around a forensic doctor facing the tragedy of her husband and son’s murder, leading her on a complex search journey to uncover the culprits.

The events intertwine within an exciting dramatic framework that reveals a world of corruption linked to the pharmaceutical trade, amid conflicts with businessmen and influence networks, in a plot that combines thrill and mystery.

The end of a crisis and the beginning of a new page
With the issuance of the acquittal verdict, it is expected that this crisis, which occupied the public artistic opinion for a long time, especially with the sensitive details relating to professional relationships within the artistic circle, will be turned over.

Observers believe that the case reflects the importance of resorting to the judiciary as a way to resolve disputes, away from media escalation, which often complicates matters instead of solving them.

Ultimately, this incident serves as a model for how an artistic disagreement can turn into a public opinion case, before ending with a judicial ruling that redefines the boundaries of responsibility and affirms the importance of words in the world of lights.
