Khaberni - The State of Qatar announced today, Monday, the launch of "Qai" (Qai), a company specialized in artificial intelligence technology, aiming to build advanced digital ecosystems that support innovation and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani expressed his happiness with the launch of the company, and wrote on his X account that it reflects the country's ambition in localizing advanced technology and employing it, and developing digital solutions that support the process of modernization and development, ultimately enhancing the country’s status as a vital center for technology and innovation."
The Qatari Prime Minister added, "We count on this step to support the comprehensive development of our country."
The launch of the new company is part of the national direction to enhance the knowledge-based economy and develop a digital infrastructure that keeps pace with the rapid global transformations, supporting the economic diversification of the state, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).
"Qai" (Qai) is a subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority and benefits from the widespread investments of the Authority in multiple sectors around the world, along with its long-term investment approach, as well as its close cooperation with the scientific, research communities, policymakers, and the innovation ecosystem in the State of Qatar.
This foundation enables the company to fully benefit from the national innovation ecosystem, accelerate the development and adoption of responsible and high-impact artificial intelligence solutions, and cement Qatar's position as a competitive hub for artificial intelligence and data-driven industries.
"Qai" will undertake the development, management, and investment of advanced artificial intelligence systems and infrastructure within and outside the State of Qatar, in a way that supports various vital sectors with smart, secure, and reliable technologies.
According to "QNA", the company will also enable institutions to access high-performance computing capabilities, and provide a connected network of tools and capabilities that allow for the training and deployment of scalable and high-impact artificial intelligence systems in both local and international markets, enhancing innovation and granting entities the ability to grow and make decisions with confidence and clarity.
