Khaberni - In a shocking incident that took place in the German city of Hagen, the German police announced that a child only 5 years old caused a massive fire that ended with the complete burning of a neighbor's car, after setting off a firecracker his mother had gifted him.
The police estimated the damages at about 30,000 euros, confirming that the mother (42 years old) participated with her child in setting off a type of firecracker called "sparkler" inside a residential car park, which caused sparks to fly onto dry leaves under one of the cars.
In the blink of an eye, the fire ignited and spread inside the vehicle, which burned completely, while attempts to extinguish the fire failed before the arrival of the fire brigade, which saved the rest of the cars from a similar fate.
The mother is currently facing a charge of causing a fire by negligence, amid ongoing investigations to find out the circumstances of the incident and how the fireworks ended up in the hands of a small child inside a residential area.
