What do you do on the Night of Power?
Khaberni - Dr. Amr Khaled, a Muslim preacher, urged the revival of the night of the 27th of Ramadan—the most likely Night of Power—aiming for the achievement of wishes and the attainment of divine grants and favors on this blessed night that surpasses the worship of a thousand months.
In episode twenty-six of his Ramadan program "Guide - A Journey with the Quran," he added that most of the companions and followers—including the noble companion Abdullah Ibn Abbas, cousin of the Prophet, peace be upon him—believe the 27th of Ramadan to be the Night of Power.
He cited scholars specialized in the Qur'anic miracle of numbers, noting that the chapter of Al-Qadr contains 30 words, and the word 'peace' until the break of dawn is the 27th word in the chapter, describing the Night of Power as the "Century Night," for its reward equals a thousand months, which is more than 83 years.
Khaled stated that on this night, you go with a simple request and return laden with greatness; you ask from it the world, and it returns with both the worldly and the hereafter; you complain therein to Allah Almighty about the constraints of life, and it returns with the breadth of a whole lifetime, "The Night of Power is better than a thousand months"; you go therein asking Allah to lift a tribulation, and you return with your distress relieved and a new opening granted.
Khaled warned against missing the reward on that night, quoting the Prophet, peace be upon him: "He who is deprived of the Night of Power is deprived of all good," as fundamentally, you should not be deprived on the Night of Power, which is better than a century of time, filled with millions of events and acts of worship.
3 good tidings on the Night of Power
Khaled revealed three good tidings for every Muslim who witnesses the Night of Power, namely:
The first good news: Whoever stands the night of Ramadan with faith and accounting, all his previous sins will be forgiven.
The second good news: The Night of Power is the night of emancipation from Hell, according to the hadith of the Prophet, peace be upon him, which says: Indeed, for Allah, in each day and night of Ramadan, there are those whom He redeems from the Fire, and for every Muslim, there is a supplication that he makes and is answered.
The third good news: "The Night of Power is better than a thousand months," if Allah opens upon you with His presence, then He has answered you; it is a great victory night in your life, a beautiful history begins from it, abbreviating your lifespan, and condensing His giving in one night.
Top 3 supplications on the Night of Power
Khaled revealed the best three supplications to make on the Night of Power, where the supplication on this night is answered; if Allah inspires you to supplicate, He intends to answer you.
-Oh Allah, You are the Pardoner, You love to pardon, so pardon me.
-Oh Allah, redeem us from the Fire.
-Oh Allah, grant us a great opening.
He explained that the secret of this night lies in the name of Allah "The Forgiving," encompassing all of the above, with "forgiveness" meaning erasing and blotting– approval; noting that all your life needs and all your supplications and requests are encapsulated in the word forgiveness and the name The Forgiving, so when you say: O Forgiving, pardon me, remember the erasing, the approval, and the giving beyond desire.
He mentioned that Al-Abbas, uncle of the Prophet, peace be upon him, asked him for a supplication that encompasses his worldly life and the hereafter, to which he replied, say: "Oh Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being".
What do you do on the Night of Power?
Khaled stated that the requirement on the Night of Power is to humble yourself before Allah and implore Him, to renew your covenant with Allah, in repentance and benevolence, and to ask Him to employ you, accepting you in a moment of sincerity.
He noted that there are those who search for the Night of Power, and there are those whom the Night of Power searches for; the former is concerned with the night, and the latter is concerned with Allah, the former is a seeker, and the latter is sought.
He added: Among the worshipers of Allah, their names have been written and Allah has prepared their circumstances, because they are destined to witness the night; perhaps the angels wonder why these, o Lord? Only He, who is the sole witness to the sincerity of their approach, knows, as you hear Allah's words: "And Allah is witness over all things," "Say, 'What thing is greatest in testimony?' Say, 'Allah is witness between me and you;' 'Say, Allah is sufficient as a witness.'"
