The Maritime Authority warns captains boat owners and fishermen

Khaberni - The Jordanian Maritime Authority has issued a general alert to all entities operating in the maritime sector, in light of the expected weather updates, and based on the official warnings issued by the relevant authorities.
The alert covers all entities working in the maritime sector from port operators, ship captains, tourist boat owners, to fishermen.
The authority reported that forecasts indicate significant activity in wind speed and wave height, with the possibility of creating maritime disturbances that could affect navigation and docking and departure operations, as well as impacting various maritime activities.
The authority emphasized the necessity of enhancing readiness at all maritime facilities, full compliance with safety procedures and standards, and avoiding risks in sailing, especially concerning small boats and tourist trips.
It also called on all entities to follow meteorological bulletins and warning updates issued by the authority and official bodies promptly, stressing the importance of immediate communication with the authority’s operations center to report any observations or emergency situations around the clock.
The authority affirmed that this circular will remain in effect until another notice is issued according to weather developments, reiterating that the safety of lives and maritime properties is a top priority and that compliance with safety procedures is a shared responsibility to ensure the continuity of maritime work smoothly during the current weather conditions.
