The Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, decided to refer the death incident of the young swimmer Youssef Mohamed to the Public Prosecutor.

This comes within the framework of the meticulous follow-up by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the unfortunate accident related to the death of the El-Zohor Club player, the preliminary information monitored about the incident, and the ministry's commitment to ensuring that the investigations into this incident are conducted with full transparency.

Youssef Mohamed, a player at El-Zohor Egyptian Club, died after suffering a fainting spell inside the swimming pool, during the qualifiers for the 50-meter race at the Republic's championship under 12 years.

The Egyptian Swimming Federation officially announced in a statement that the player had fainted during his participation in the Republic's championship competitions and was transferred to a hospital in Nasr City area, where he died immediately.

The board of the Egyptian Swimming Federation, chaired by Engineer Yasser Idris, mourned Youssef Mohamed, a player at El-Zohor Club, who died after being transferred to Dar El Fouad Hospital nearby Cairo Stadium, after suffering a fainting spell during his participation in the under 12 years Republic's championship currently held at the Cairo International Stadium swimming complex.
