Cause of the Horrific Accident Spanish Judiciary Settles Debate Over the Deaths of Diogo Jota and His Brother

Khaberni - A Spanish court has issued its ruling on the tragic accident that claimed the lives of former Liverpool football star, Portuguese Diogo Jota, his brother, and André Silva, which occurred in the summer of 2025.
The judicial authorities in Spain concluded that there was no criminal responsibility in the tragic road accident that resulted in the deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, following the official closure of the case after investigations were completed.

The brothers were on a trip to the city of Santander in preparation for travel to the United Kingdom, where Jota was scheduled to return to Liverpool after recovering from lung surgery. Their death caused widespread shock in European sports circles.

The tragic accident happened on July 3, 2025, in northern Spain, when a Lamborghini the brothers were traveling in veered off the A-52 highway near the area of Chirnadella, leading to it catching fire and their immediate deaths.

The investigation results clarified that the main cause of the accident was a tire explosion during an attempt to overtake another vehicle, leading to loss of control and collision with a barrier in the middle of the road.

A court in Zamora confirmed that all the evidence examined did not indicate any criminal fault or responsible party, noting that the criminal lawsuit was dismissed last November, after thorough review in collaboration with traffic accident experts.

According to the British "Daily Mail", the court explained that closing the criminal case does not prevent the affected parties from pursuing civil lawsuits if they wish, opening the door for possible further legal actions.
