Khaberni - The death toll from floods and landslides that occurred on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia has risen to 631 people, while one million people have been displaced, according to statistics issued by the National Disaster Management Agency today, Tuesday.

The agency added that 472 people are still missing, while 2,600 others were injured in three provinces on the island located west of the archipelago.

The agency reported that more than 3.3 million people were affected by the floods and one million people were evacuated and moved to temporary shelters.


The floods and landslides that hit Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka in the past week have resulted in the deaths of about 1,200 people and hundreds are missing.
