Khaberni - In a rare medical incident, a mother of two was surprised when doctors discovered a piece of adhesive tape settled inside her nose since her childhood, causing her chronic breathing difficulties throughout her life without her realizing the true reason.

Candela Ribo, a 35-year-old health influencer, had been suffering from a near-permanent blockage in her right nostril since childhood. She says, "Air could barely pass through. I used to breathe through my mouth during physical activities and even while sleeping." She points out that information about the risks of mouth breathing wasn't as available as it is today.

The Discovery Begins
A year ago, Candela experienced a severe sinus infection and could not have a CT scan due to the lack of a machine in her area. When her symptoms returned with severe pain in her right cheek, she consulted a doctor who suspected the presence of nasal polyps, according to "Mirror".

However, the CT scan revealed an unexpected surprise: a calcified mass measuring 8×6 mm, suggesting the presence of a wrapped foreign body, medically known as a rhinolith.

Removing the Foreign Object.. And the Shock
Using a medical endoscope, doctors were able to locate the stuck object, and the removal process took about an hour. Candela says, "When I saw it up close, I was shocked. It was a folded piece of adhesive tape! I do not remember how it got there."

When asking her mother, the latter remembered that Candela had breathing difficulties at birth, suggesting that the piece might have come from a nasal device used at that time.

Immediate Improvement After 35 Years
After removing the tape, Candela described her feeling saying: "The improvement was immediate and astounding. I now breathe more easily every day
She added: "At age 35, I'm experiencing for the first time what it means to breathe normally through both nostrils."

Candela's story achieved widespread visibility on social media, and she has since received supportive messages from around the world.
