18 Injured in Violent Collision Between Two Trains in Denmark

Khaberni - A horrific train accident in Denmark injured 18 people, including five in critical condition, amid ongoing investigations to uncover the causes of the sudden collision.

Denmark witnessed a serious accident on Thursday morning following a direct collision between two trains in a forest area near the city of Hillerød, which is about 40 kilometers from the capital Copenhagen, injuring 18 people, including five in critical condition.

According to preliminary information, ambulance and rescue teams mobilized immediately upon receiving the report, finding the accident site in a state of great destruction due to the force of the collision, with both trains' fronts nearly completely smashed, and severe damage to windows and driver cabins.

Officials noted that the direct impact caused passengers inside the carriages to surge, resulting in varying severities of injuries, although the trains remained on the tracks without deviation.

There were 37 passengers on board the trains, the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, while the rest of the passengers underwent medical examinations after experiencing psychological shock.

In his role, Emergency Operations Coordinator Michael Jørgen Pedersen explained that several passengers reached support centers in a state of shock, especially those who were on the train heading to their jobs in the morning.
