Khaberni - Microsoft warned Windows 11 system users against using a new feature powered by artificial intelligence, which is still being tested with computer systems.

Microsoft pointed out that the "Proxy Server" feature, which relies on artificial intelligence, appeared in version 26220.7262 of Windows 11 systems, and can be manually activated in the "Artificial Intelligence Components" section. Upon activation, the system immediately displays a warning indicating that this technology is still in the experimental phase and could affect the device’s performance—from errors in responses to malfunctions in device behavior.

The company clarified that the basic programming language model that the new "Proxy Server" operates on is still under development, and therefore may provide answers that seem convincing but are incorrect. This is due to incomplete training data, errors in context interpretation, and other factors.

Technology experts indicate that some internet hackers have already begun testing ways to attack such new technologies linked to artificial intelligence features, and one of the main scenarios is the covert replacement of instructions in the "Server", where harmful instructions are embedded in documents or user interface elements, and might be executed automatically by artificial intelligence. In such cases, the server could theoretically install malware or leak sensitive data.

Adding to the complexity of the situation is that the "new server" by default obtains read and write permissions in the main user folders such as "Documents", "Desktop", "Downloads", and others.

Microsoft promises to enhance protection through adding more precise permissions and barriers against potential cyber attacks and recommends at this time that this experimental feature be operated only by those who understand the associated risks.
