Khaberni - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the meeting between American and Ukrainian officials in Florida on Sunday was "very fruitful," adding that there is still remaining work to end the Russian war in Ukraine.
Rubio mentioned in statements to journalists, "There are many changing factors, and definitely, there is another party involved that must be part of the equation, and this will continue later this week when Mr. Witkoff travels to Moscow... Although we are in varying degrees of contact with the Russian side, we have a very good understanding of their views as well."
The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Sergiy Kyslytsia, said that the talks between American and Ukrainian officials about ending the Russian war had a "good start" and were conducted in a "warm atmosphere."
Kyslytsia wrote on the X platform, "A good start to the ongoing meeting. The discussions are very good and constructive so far. Warm atmosphere, which will lead to possible progress."
He praised "the great leadership" of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Ukrainian negotiators started talks in the United States on Sunday about the plan proposed by Washington to end the war with Russia, at a time when military and political pressures on Kyiv are increasing.
The meetings began while Moscow intensified its overnight strikes on the Ukrainian capital and its surroundings for two consecutive nights, and with a political shake-up internally after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy fired his office manager Andriy Yermak following a wide-ranging corruption investigation.
The meeting was attended by the Ukrainian negotiators led by the Secretary of the National Security Council Rustam Umrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accompanied by Steve Witkoff, the special envoy, and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump.
