Khaberni - The Commission of Detainee Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Club issued a new briefing today, Sunday, November 2025, presenting extended testimonies from detainees in a number of Israeli prisons and camps, revealing extremely harsh detention conditions including systematic torture, starvation, and degrading treatment.
This was stated, according to the joint briefing that relied on dozens of field visits, confirming that what is happening inside the detention camps and prisons "is part of a broad pattern of violations" against the detainees and Palestinian prisoners, especially from the Gaza Strip.
"Gilad" Camp: Electric Shock as a Primary Tool of Torture
The briefing clarified that the newly established "Gilad" camp, affiliated with "Ofer" camp, houses more than 120 new detainees, and experiences ongoing repression and cruelty. It mentioned that electric shock has become a primary instrument of torture.
One of the testimonies mentioned that a detainee was electrocuted after the forces saw him leading the other detainees in prayer inside the room. Other detainees reported being electrocuted "for standing by the iron windows in the cells in an attempt to breathe some air," describing this method as "one of the most severe and intense."
Sleeping on Iron Slats and Denial of Rest
The testimonies spoke of forcing detainees to sleep on "iron slats," which are beds made of iron bars only covered with thin mattresses causing back and body pain, prompting detainees to sleep on the floor despite the severe cold.
The briefing indicated that camp administration "removes blankets and mattresses" from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. to prevent detainees from sitting or sleeping.
"The roll-call" as a Tool of Torment... and Inedible Food
According to the briefing, the occupation exploits the "roll-call" period to force detainees to kneel and raise their hands above their heads for extended periods. As for the food, detainees confirmed that the meals "are inedible and often spoiled," with continuous hunger used as a primary pressure factor.
During transfers for visits, detainees are "brought shackled at hands and feet, blindfolded, and forced to keep their heads lowered," according to the briefing.
"Rakevet" Section in Ramla Prison: Conditions of Greater Severity
The briefing revealed that the testimonies from detainees from Gaza who are held in the underground "Rakevet" section in Ramla prison are "the harshest and most severe" since the aggression began, based on dozens of visits.
The information states that three simple meals are provided daily, and mattresses are distributed only from eleven at night until four in the morning, while detainees are forced to sit during the day on iron bars.
Group prayers are banned, owning Qur'ans is prohibited, and during "outdoor time," hands are shackled, and raising heads is prevented, with continuous insults and threats, especially before visits, to prevent them from exposing what occurs inside the section.
Testimonies from Gaza Detainees — as Literally Stated:
Detainee (A.M):
"I was arrested at the checkpoint while passing from Khan Younis towards Al-Mawasi. I was interrogated on-site and was beaten. Although I am suffering from cancer, my detention continued, and I was transferred to the barracks with dozens of prisoners.
Later, I was moved to Ashkelon prison, where I underwent interrogation about five times. After the interrogation ended, I was transferred to the Rakevet section, and I am still detained there today without receiving any medical treatment or healthcare."
Detainee (N.R):
"I was arrested in December 2023 from Jabalia. I did not undergo field interrogation but was directly transferred to the barracks. There, I was interrogated militarily for 8 consecutive days, and during that time, I was subjected to ghosting and beating, specifically the banana method, in addition to the disco interrogation."
I was then transferred to Ashkelon prison in April 2024 and was interrogated again for 25 days. Subsequently, I was moved to the Rakevet section. I am now suffering from chest pain due to the beating I endured during my transfer to the section."
Detainee (M.N):
"I was arrested in November 2023 at the Netzarim checkpoint. I was interrogated on-site for hours and was beaten. I was then transferred to the barracks and underwent torture. I was taken and tied (ghosted) to the fence for about an hour."
Later, I was moved to the Ofer cells and underwent continuous military interrogation, during which ghosting and beating were used, as well as the banana method, which caused a break in my back. Afterward, my testimony was taken, and I was moved to the collaborating section (the sparrows).
After two days, I was transferred to a solitary cell where I was subjected to torture and threats. Because my hands were continuously restrained, they changed color, and today I suffer from weakened vision and constant back pain due to the break."
