Khaberni - The business meetings of the fourth session of the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Joint Committee for Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation concluded on Thursday in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, which were held during the period 26-27 November 2025, chaired by the Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yarub Al-Qudah, and the Azerbaijani Minister of Finance, Suhail Babayev.
In a press statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply said that the committee discussed a number of issues aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially economic, by working to increase the volume of bilateral trade and stimulate the establishment of investments by taking advantage of available opportunities in both countries.
The two sides signed agreements and memoranda of understanding to increase cooperation areas in the coming period, most notably the executive program for cooperation for the years 2025-2027 in the fields of: science and education, culture and arts, youth and sports, antiquities, health, media. There was also a cooperation and mutual assistance agreement in customs affairs between the two governments, and a memorandum of understanding and an executive program in tourism between the Azerbaijani Tourism Authority and the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Jordanian Economic Development Agency (JEDCO) and the Azerbaijani Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA).
Al-Qudah said that the meeting of the joint committee translates the political will in both countries to open broader prospects for economic cooperation, enhance bilateral trade, facilitate the work of the private sector, establish joint exhibitions, and diversify the base of Jordanian goods exported to Azerbaijan.
He added that the current phase requires enhancing joint work to face regional and international economic challenges, calling for the removal of trade barriers and intensifying communications between economic institutions in both countries.
He stressed the importance of following up on the implementation of the outputs of the committee meetings in a manner that leads to better trade exchange of goods and stimulates the private sector in both countries to set up investment projects and benefit from Jordan's position as a gateway to enter the markets of the region as well as contributing to the reconstruction processes in Syria, in addition to the incentives and privileges granted to investors in the kingdom.
The Azerbaijani Minister of Finance confirmed his country's readiness to enhance cooperation in trade, industry, investment, health, energy, agriculture, transport, tourism, and the digital economy, welcoming the participation of Jordanian companies in Azerbaijani exhibitions, and expressed his country's aspiration to implement joint projects in vital sectors, including pharmaceutical and agricultural industries.
The preparatory committee held its meetings chaired by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dana Al-Zoubi, and the First Deputy of the Azerbaijani Minister of Finance, Anar Karimov.
