Khaberni - The foreign trade report revealed that Jordan's imports from non-Arab Asian markets constituted more than 36%, of the total imports of the kingdom during the first nine months of this year.
The value of imports from these markets reached 5.439 billion Jordanian Dinars during the first nine months of this year, out of a total imports value of 14.986 billion Jordanian Dinars, according to Al-Ghad.
In a related context, the total value of Jordan's imports increased by 7% during the first nine months of this year, compared to its level of 14.012 billion Jordanian Dinars during the same period of the previous year.
Additionally, official figures show an increase of 2% in the value of Jordan's imports from non-Arab Asian countries, with imports from China valued at 2.881 billion Jordanian Dinars.
In second place in terms of most important trading partners came the countries of the Greater Arab Trade Zone, constituting 27% of the total imports, until the end of September (September) last.
The value of the kingdom's imports from the countries of the Greater Arab Trade Zone also increased by 7% during the first nine months of this year, reaching 3.987 billion Jordanian Dinars compared to 3.741 billion Jordanian Dinars, while imports from Saudi Arabia amounted to 2.216 billion Jordanian Dinars.
On another note, the European Union countries ranked third among trading partners with 16% of total imports, and a value of 2.350 billion Jordanian Dinars, while imports from Germany recorded 502 million Jordanian Dinars.
The value of the kingdom’s imports from the European Union during the first nine months of this year increased by 10%, reaching 2.350 billion Jordanian Dinars compared to 2.143 billion Jordanian Dinars in the previous year.
