With an escalating record of successes and continuous expansion in the number of participants and involved countries, the FIA for the Middle East and North Africa Digital Racing continues to strengthen its presence in the region; the 2025 edition saw competitions that brought together the elite drivers from various countries of the region in the Jordanian capital, Amman; reflecting the rapid evolution of the championship over five years and its advanced role in the regional digital racing scene..
This year’s championship holds special significance as it is the first digital racing championship officially recognized by the International Automobile Federation worldwide, and is organized in collaboration with Toyota GAZOO Racing, andDesert Fox Racing, and the Jordanian Automobile Sport..
This edition saw exceptional turnout for the qualifiers, with more than 700 participants from 20 regional countries, allowing broad participation that varied between citizens and residents, and contributed to raising the level of challenge and presenting more inclusive competitions in the region.
After months of strong preliminary competitions, 40 drivers qualified for the regional qualifiers and demonstrated a high level of seriousness and accuracy of performance; especially as the qualifying cards for the finals were limited to 24 seats only, leaving no room for error. The competitions at this stage took place in October 18 at the "Autodromo Lago Maggiore" circuit within Gran Turismo 7; where the race resulted in the selection of an elite group of drivers who moved to the Amman finals to face a new challenge in the electronic gaming dome at King Hussein Business Park.
This year's finals come with an exceptional level of competition, especially with the participation of three champions from previous seasons facing each other for the first time. Sami-Joe Abi Nakhle, the first season's champion, has returned focused on track racing in an effort to clinch a second title, along with Oman's Mohammed Al Barwani, and Iraq's Mohammed Hadi, the 2024 edition winner. They face strong competition from a group of the region's top drivers, including Saudi Arabia's Nayef Al Faleh, who was a top contender for the title in the past two years, as well as Wissam Khalil, and Wassim Abou Khalil, among others who have shown notable improvement in their performance in recent months, keeping the chances of surprises open until the last moments.
