Khaberni - On the first anniversary of the ceasefire agreement, Israel launched air strikes on southern Lebanon, targeting sites it claims are affiliated with Hezbollah, while Lebanon condemned the attacks and affirmed its commitment to the agreement, holding Israel responsible for the ongoing tension at the border.

Israeli raids targeted the heights of Al-Jarmouk, Al-Mahmoudiyah, and Nab al-Tasseh in southern Lebanon.

Israeli media reported that the Israeli army struck "targets in southern Lebanon" a year after the ceasefire agreement, indicating that the strikes come on the first anniversary of the peace that was concluded between the two parties.

Channel 12 reported that the Israeli army attacked weapon depots and military sites and launching sites south of the Litani River.

On the other hand, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun affirmed that Lebanon fully adhered to the terms of the ceasefire agreement, while Israel continues to refuse its implementation and maintain its occupation of parts of the border area, continuing its assaults despite repeated international calls to adhere to the ceasefire and UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Aoun indicated that Israeli forces targeted the sites of the international forces working in the south "UNIFIL" multiple times.

He explained that Lebanon has launched several initiatives for negotiations to find sustainable solutions to the current situation, noting that it has received no practical response from the Israeli side, despite international engagement with these initiatives.

He affirmed that the relations between the Lebanese army and UNIFIL forces are robust and the coordination between the two sides is ongoing, pointing out that cooperation will continue in the coming year until the complete withdrawal of these forces at the end of 2027.

The Lebanese president added that his country wished for the continued presence of international forces until the completion of the deployment of the Lebanese army up to the borders, which was obstructed by Israel's non-withdrawal from the hills and occupied lands.

It is worth noting that Israeli airstrikes, from November 28 of last year after the signing of the ceasefire agreement until November 20 of this year, resulted in 331 deaths and 945 injuries in Lebanon, according to statistics from the Public Health Ministry.
