Khaberni - Jordan Customs is inviting citizens, traders, and investors who have organized customs cases and violations with controls set before 1/1/2025 to take advantage of the remaining period to implement Cabinet decisions (related to the exemption of fines due on cases), which will end by December 31, 2025, reminding stakeholders of the need to settle pending cases and make reconciliations that will facilitate their situation and leverage the decision.
Jordan Customs clarified that the Cabinet, continuing the decisions issued regarding the exemption of cases from fines at rates of 60% and 90%, had previously decided to include cases prior to 1/1/2025 according to the ratios specified in previous decisions and to extend the effectiveness of Decision No. 454 until December 31, 2025, as well as the full exemption from the penalty of administrative collection expenses incurred on these cases when paying the original demanded amount, and that the exemption will not affect any rights of the case owners at the department.
Jordan Customs invites citizens, traders, and investors to take advantage of this decision, issued based on a recommendation by the Economic Update and Development Committee to encourage investment and facilitate operations for investors and traders to make reconciliations and resolve pending cases, where the decision stipulates exemption from penalties on the cases covered at a rate of 60% for cases where the owners are not liable for duties and taxes on the goods concerned, and 90% for cases where the owners are liable for paying duties and taxes on the goods concerned, provided the settlement is conducted before December 31, 2025.
