Khaberni - The roads of the United Kingdom are experiencing an unprecedented increase in the presence of Chinese cars, as sales data reveals that more than one passenger car out of every ten sold in the three months ending in September were Chinese models, clearly indicating their growing popularity with the arrival of a new wave of brands from the East.

According to automotive market analysts at "Schmidt," Chinese companies are tightening their grip on the new car market in Britain at a notable pace, having doubled their market share in just one year, causing a shift in the balance of competition with established European, Korean, and Japanese brands.

According to the "Daily Mail" report, tens of thousands of Britons have overcome old stereotypes associated with Chinese products, and in recent years have turned to purchasing nearly 19 billion pounds sterling worth of Chinese cars since 2020, driven by a mix of competitive prices, advanced technologies, and high levels of equipment.

The most crucial factor, according to the report, is that many of these cars emulate the designs of luxury cars that many find difficult to afford, thus doubling their appeal among young people and lovers of low-cost luxury.

In this context, the newspaper showcased 6 Chinese cars available in the British market or soon to be introduced, presenting themselves as "alternatives" to well-known luxury brands, though they are not always the cheapest, despite the striking similarities in design.

1- Omoda 4... "Lamborghini Timo" with a difference of 175,000 pounds
Omoda recently revealed its new sports utility vehicle 4, which was quickly compared to the Lamborghini Urus, thanks to its bold design and aggressive front end.

But the similarity is only visual; while the Urus comes with a powerful V8 engine and a starting price of 208,000 pounds, Omoda offers a compact version with small petrol engines or electric ones, with an expected price not exceeding 25,000 pounds when it launches in 2026.

2- Zeekr 9X... "Rolls Royce Timo" expected to cost 50,000 pounds
The new luxury car from "Zeekr" has sparked a wave of comparisons with Rolls Royce Cullinan, but at a rumored starting price of only about 50,000 pounds.

In addition to its attractive price, the 9X features an advanced hybrid drive system with an electric range exceeding 186 miles, and an interior design that competes with major manufacturers as the brand prepares to break into the British market starting in 2026.

3- ICaur V23… "G-Wagon Timo" with a difference of 120,000 pounds
The soon-expected electric car ICaur V23 in Britain, clearly inspired by the famous Mercedes G-Class, is targeting the youthful audience.

But the biggest difference is in the price, as V23 is sold for just around 22,000 pounds, compared to 140,000 pounds for the basic petrol version of the G-Wagon.

4- Jaecoo 7... "Range Rover Timo" bestseller in Britain
Since its launch in February, Jaecoo 7 has become the best-selling Chinese car in the United Kingdom, with 21,385 cars sold in nine months.

The family luxury car targets the same audience as the Range Rover Velar and resembles it in many design features, but with a starting price of 30,115 pounds, nearly 25,000 pounds less than its British competitor.

5- BYD Sealion 7… Competing with Porsche’s electric car with a difference of 50,000 pounds
BYD is competing with Porsche Macan electric with the Sealion 7 model, which offers strong performance with a top speed of 215 km/h and a range of up to 312 miles.

However, the decisive difference remains in the price: only 47,000 pounds, compared to 97,500 pounds for the Porsche car.

6- MG IM6… The Chinese version of Tesla Model Y
MG launched its new car IM6 in Britain as an advanced alternative to Tesla Model Y.

The two cars are similar in equipment and design, while IM6 offers a range of up to 388 miles and a starting price of 47,995 pounds, about four thousand pounds less than the long-range Model Y.

While Chinese cars are making a clear breakthrough in the British market, experts confirm that the real attraction lies in their ability to combine luxury, technology, and competitive prices, making them an ideal option for drivers looking for high value without spending huge amounts on traditional luxury brands.
