Khaberni - In the framework of its continuous commitment to innovation and community responsibility, Orange Jordan, in collaboration with Dar Al-Handasah, the Jordan Green Building Council, and through the Orange Coding Academy at the Orange Digital Center, held the fourth local edition of the "SuperCoders" workshop, under the slogan "Coding for Planet Earth", which Orange implements annually across the Middle East and Africa since 2021, coinciding with the thirtieth United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30).
The workshop targeted children aged between 10 and 13 years, with the aim of enhancing their awareness of climate change issues and the United Nations' seventeen goals for sustainable development. Through fun and creative educational activities, children were encouraged to imagine and design innovative digital solutions to combat environmental challenges using the Scratch programming language.
The event also included interactive awareness sessions on climate and sustainability, followed by hands-on workshops that allowed children to develop their own digital animations and games inspired by environmental topics, before concluding with a presentation of the projects and honoring participants with certificates of appreciation for their creativity and initiative.
In this context, Orange Jordan affirmed that this initiative reflects its approach in fulfilling its commitments to empowering future generations, emphasizing that combining digital education and environmental awareness enhances the positive impact on the community, rooted in its belief that technology and education are powerful tools for making this impact, reflecting the company's ongoing commitment to sustainability and innovation, and preparing the youth to become the changemakers of the future, emphasizing that innovation must be responsible and ethical.
This initiative is part of the global efforts of Orange Group to promote digital inclusion and climate responsibility, where this workshop has trained about 1369 children from 13 countries over the past three years, including 94 children from Jordan.
