Khaberni - The occupation army claimed to have discovered what it described as one of the most complex tunnel networks belonging to Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
The occupation army released a video via the X platform on November 20, showing an underground infrastructure extending 7 kilometers under the city of Rafah in the southern part of the strip.
According to the army's claim, the "root tunnel" extends to a depth of 25 meters and includes about 80 rooms, which, according to claims, were used for command and control operations, weapons storage, and sheltering Hamas elements.
The video showed reinforced cement corridors and spacious rooms, reflecting the size and complexity of the tunnel network relied upon by the movement, as reported by the news network "Fox News".
The army claimed that "the tunnel path begins under a compound belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and extends under civilian sites."
It added, "Army forces discovered one of the largest and most complex tunnel courses in Gaza, more than 7 kilometers long and 25 meters deep, comprising about 80 hiding places, where abducted officer Hadar Golden was held."
The army believes that the discovered tunnel could be linked to the area where officer Hadar Golden, who was abducted during the Gaza War in 2014, was held. His remains were returned at the beginning of this month, after more than 10 years.
