Khaberni - Stemming from Arab Amman University's commitment to enhancing health awareness and spreading medical culture among its students and university community, the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Arab Amman University organized an awareness workshop entitled: "Diabetes: Its Types, Causes, and Prevention Methods" as part of the global diabetes week activities, attended by Professor Dr. Rana Abu Haweij, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences along with several faculty members and university students.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Suhaib Haddad, the Clinical Audit Officer at the National Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Genetics, aimed at raising health awareness among students about diabetes, its importance, and prevention through adopting healthy lifestyles. Dr. Haddad discussed major types of diabetes, contributing factors, and scientific prevention methods during the workshop.
In this context, Dr. Abu Haweij explained that the workshop included a variety of health activities, which involved conducting free medical examinations in collaboration with Zain Laboratories, in addition to providing health consultations and raising awareness among participants. These activities manifested the college's dedication to enhancing health culture and promoting preventive behaviors to reduce chronic diseases.
At the end of the workshop, Dr. Abu Haweij honored the participants of the event, who expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Arab Amman University in organizing such events that contribute to spreading health awareness and affirm the university's commitment to its social role in enhancing public health.
