Khaberni - Emirates Airlines announced today, Monday, that it has placed an order for 65 additional Boeing 777-9 aircraft valued at $38 billion.

The announcement was made at the opening of the Dubai Airshow despite recent delays in the delivery of the world's largest twin-engine aircraft.

With this announcement, the total orders of "Emirates" with Boeing rise to 315 widebody aircraft, including 270 of the 777-9 model.

The latest agreement with Boeing also provides a strong boost to the feasibility study related to the development of the larger 777-10 model within the 777X family, as the carrier has signed options to convert its new order from the 777-9 model to the 777-10 or 777-8.

It is noted that the Emirates Group recently announced a 13% increase in its net profits, reaching $2.9 billion for the six-month period ending in September.

This was attributed to strong and sustained demand levels for travel across the regions that have bolstered the airline's business.
