Khaberni - Professor Alexei Moskalov, Director of the Institute of Aging Biology, reported that the simplest way to slow down the aging process is to get good sleep, noting that lack of sleep negatively affects general health.
The professor said, "Scientific studies have shown what happens if a person does not get enough sleep or sleeps lightly, which are two different things. A person can sleep fewer hours, but he must get good deep sleep, preferably for two hours each night."
He pointed out that the deep sleep stage can be monitored using smart watches or fitness tracking devices because the body renews and repairs itself at the cellular level at night. In this stage, growth hormone is produced in addition to other hormones responsible for renewal.
Professor Moskalov warns that regular sleep deprivation or shallow sleep accelerates the wear and tear and degradation of the entire body over time.
He explained that high blood sugar levels and underlying inflammation also contribute to the acceleration of aging. He said, "The risk of chronic diseases increases if the level of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP) is higher than 2, which indicates the inflammatory type of aging." He confirmed that this high level could lead to future problems in heart and vascular health, while a value less than 0.5 is optimal.
He added that glycated hemoglobin is another important indicator, as it signifies the presence of pre-diabetic conditions. This type of aging is linked to the reaction of glucose in the blood, as sugar makes the protein structure of the body more rigid, and this process is irreversible.
