Khaberni - The Syrian cleric, Adnan Al-Arour, sparked widespread interaction among activists on social media after announcing his donation of $6.5 million for the campaign "Fidaa for Hama" on Saturday.

Activists circulated questions amid interaction and speculation about the source from which Adnan Al-Arour managed to gather these funds. Others shared claims and allegations about its origin amid baseless accusations, while the Syrian news channel had broadcast a breaking news ticker mentioning the value of the donation.

Al-Arour did not confirm this announcement on his account on the X platform (formerly Twitter), but he mentioned in a previous post: "How I wished; to participate in all the fundraising campaigns for building a Syria of pride and dignity, traveling between cities, towns, and villages; especially the destroyed Al-Qusayr, the stricken Homs, and the wounded Hama.. and.. But God decreed upon me - by His wisdom - an illness that struck me two months ago, which led me to hospitals more than once, and confined me to bed.. Therefore, I hope everyone accepts my excuse.., asking God to help us all in building our country with faith and construction, and to grant the Levant openings that unite its ranks, promote coexistence among it, restore its glory, elevate its status, and ward off the schemes of its enemies."

The interim Syrian president, Ahmad Al-Shar'a, gave a speech at the "Fidaa for Hama" event, in which he stated, as reported by the official Syrian news agency: "Today begins the era of building and reconstruction, and what's more important than this great money collected, is to see the unity of Syrians and their combined efforts to build this country," confirming that "the secret of the battle's success is the coalition that occurred among the actors in the Syrian revolution, and that the challenge of construction also requires the unity of Syrians and the consolidation of all efforts to put the goal of building and prosperity before our eyes."

He added: "A people like those in Hama, Homs, Idlib, Deir Ezzor, Hassakeh, Raqqa, Daraa, Aleppo, Latakia, Tartous, Sweida, and Quneitra, such people are indeed entitled to build a prosperous and great country, and we shall show the world the coming Syria, God willing.. Today, many challenges face Syria, but we are empowered to overcome them by seeing these benevolent faces in peace."
