Khaberni - The Senate, under the leadership of Faisal Al-Fayez, will hold a legislative session on Sunday to discuss the draft amendment of the Military Service and Reserve Service Law for 2025, and to approve it.

The legal committee in the Senate approved on Thursday the draft amendment of the Military Service and Reserve Service Law for 2025, as received from the House of Representatives, during a meeting held in the presence of the Justice Minister Bassam Talhouni, and the State Minister for Legal Affairs, Fayad Al-Qudah.

The reasons stated for the "Khaberni" service are to regulate the provisions related to some new legal requirements for the activation and implementation of the conscription program, the accepted cases for its postponement, and to enable the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army to offer training programs at the military forces' centers and institutes for the conscripts, so that the relevant educational authorities can count them as part of the study requirements for university students according to instructions issued by the Cabinet for this purpose, and also to count them as part of the requirements and duties of the conscription service.

Also, it includes the cancellation of provisions that grant conscripts who complete their military service any priority in appointments in ministries, departments, and public and private institutions and companies.
