Khaberni - American journalist Candace Owens, known for promoting the theory that French President's wife Brigitte Macron is biologically male, claimed she might be targeted for an assassination attempt.
According to her statement, a source from French governmental circles contacted her. After verifying this person's position and their closeness to the French presidential couple, Owens deemed the information provided "credible enough to share in case something happens," as she wrote on Saturday on the platform "X".
She alleged that a small group from the French National Gendarmerie, including an Israeli, was tasked with her assassination. She also claimed that the life of journalist Xavier Busar, who has also made controversial statements about Brigitte Macron's gender, is also at risk.
The rumors about the gender of France's First Lady have sparked controversy in online posts. A documentary by American journalist Candace Owens about Brigitte Macron has heightened interest in the subject, triggering a new wave of discussion and prompting the presidential couple to sue her for defamation.
The journalist claimed that the First Lady of France was born male named Jean Michel Trognieu. The Macrons are seeking a jury trial and damages. According to their lawyer, Thomas Clair, they are willing to travel personally to the United States to attend the session. He also noted that the French president and his wife are prepared to present photographs and "scientific" evidence in the American court proving that Brigitte was born female.
Earlier, Owens also said that Macron family's lawyers are pursuing her, but she stated that "the United States is not Europe, and we have freedom of speech," and that French lawyers "will not silence her." She mentioned that "presidents do not threaten foreign journalists unless they are terrified of what they might reveal."
