The suspect in the attempted murder of Trump appears before the court without making any statements

Khaberni - The accused, who tried to infiltrate the White House Correspondents’ dinner armed with firearms and knives, and attempted to kill US President Donald Trump, agreed on Thursday to remain in detention pending his trial.

Cole Thomas Allen did not make any statements during his brief appearance before Judge Moxxiella Upadhyaya.

The prosecution stated that Allen had planned his attack for weeks, tracking Trump’s movements online before he sped past a metal detector at the "Washington Hilton" hotel last Saturday night carrying a rifle, disrupting one of the capital's major annual events.

Officials said Allen was injured in the attack, but was not shot. Additionally, a member of the Secret Service was shot, but was wearing a bulletproof vest and survived the incident.

The prosecutors believe that Allen fired at least one shot from his rifle, and a Secret Service agent fired five shots.

The prosecutors have not publicly confirmed whether the bullet fired by Allen hit the protective vest worn by the security member.

In a letter to the prosecution on Wednesday, Allen's lawyers said that some statements by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanch "indicate that the projectile evidence recovered from the scene does not align with some aspects of the government’s narrative, the evidence collected by the government, the statements made by witnesses, or possibly both combined."

In response, the Department of Justice said that the evidence shows that Allen fired at least one shot from his rifle towards a member of the Secret Service.
