Khaberni - An armed gang carried out a bold robbery in broad daylight, after its members disguised themselves as officials from the Reserve Bank of India and stole 70 million rupees (about 800,000 dollars) from a truck designated for transferring money in the city of Bangalore, Karnataka state.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when six men in an SUV stopped the money transfer truck while it was moving between two bank branches on one of the busiest roads in the city, explained Bengaluru Police Commissioner, Simant Kumar Singh.

The truck was carrying the driver, a money supervisor, and two armed guards. The gang members claimed they were from the Reserve Bank of India and demanded the crew show the necessary documents to transport such a large amount.

According to the police's account, the suspects asked the money supervisor and the guards to leave their weapons inside the truck and get into their other vehicle, while the driver was asked to continue driving the truck carrying the money.

After following the truck for several kilometers, the gang forced the driver to stop and get out, then brought down the money supervisor and guards from the other vehicle, and transferred the money under the threat of weapons before fleeing.
