Most adults can consume green tea daily without problems, with the need to limit caffeine to 400 milligrams per day.
One cup of green tea contains approximately 22–40 milligrams of caffeine.

Experts also warn against excessive consumption in people who take medications for heart disease, high blood pressure, cholesterol, liver diseases, anxiety, depression, or osteoporosis, due to the possibility of drug interactions.
