Khaberni - The US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, described the wave of violence Israeli settlers are unleashing on Palestinians in the West Bank as "terrorism," but insisted it "is limited to a few thugs."
Huckabee was speaking on Wednesday with the American news channel "Elizabeth Vargas" as reported by the Israeli news site Times of Israel.
According to the Israeli site, Huckabee claimed that "most of those (who attack Palestinians in the West Bank) are not real settlers, they are mostly angry and resentful youths, and their numbers are few."
He added, "These are thugs, many of whom do not even live in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), they come there to create chaos."
The site "Times of Israel" mentioned that Huckabee described the attacks as "terrorist acts".
A Steady Agreement
When asked about the recent exchange of fire in Gaza, Huckabee said he believes the ceasefire "is still holding, and such incidents are to be expected."
He added that "Israel has the right, it must respond when attacked by Hamas, and when they come out of those tunnels, but generally, I believe.. that President (American Donald Trump)’s plan is working very effectively."
On Monday evening, the UN Security Council, by a majority, adopted the American proposal regarding Gaza, with 13 members of the council voting in favor, while Russia and China abstained from voting.
The resolution - which carries the number 2803 - welcomed Trump's 20-point plan to end the conflict in Gaza issued on September 29, 2025, as mentioned by the UN site.
