Khaberni - Today, the Minister of Transport, Dr. Nidal Al-Qatamin, received at his office the American Ambassador to Jordan, Jim Holtsnider, accompanied by the commercial and economic officials of the embassy, where they discussed the prospects of joint cooperation between the two sides in various transport fields, including land, maritime, air, rail sectors, and meteorology.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance joint work in the development of transport sectors, security and safety of ports and marine services, alongside discussing opportunities for exchanging expertise in meteorology areas and developing specialized training programs. Additionally, mechanisms to enhance air movement and increase connectivity between Jordan and the United States were discussed.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Qatamin highlighted the profound and distinguished relations linking Jordan with the United States, pointing out that this cooperation forms an important pillar for supporting the development of transport infrastructure in the Kingdom. The minister praised the qualitative partnership and ongoing cooperation offered by the United States in various transport fields, expressing the ministry's aspiration to expand this cooperation and develop new projects that enhance the sector's efficiency and meet the Kingdom’s aspirations.
For his part, Ambassador Holtsnider praised the solid bilateral relations between the two countries, affirming that the United States is always ready to provide technical and logistical support for the transport sector in Jordan, especially in maritime areas and port development and advancing transport systems. He also appreciated the procedures followed at the Ministry of Transport and the efforts made to update the sector in line with international standards.
In conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue coordination and intensify joint work on the air movement and meteorology files, and to develop programs that enhance the capabilities of technical staff, contributing to driving cooperation between the two countries in the upcoming phase.
