Khaberni - TikTok announced that it will give users the ability to reduce the amount of content produced using artificial intelligence on their pages.

According to the British newspaper "The Guardian", TikTok announced that there are now 1.3 billion video clips on its platform classified as produced by artificial intelligence.

Overall, more than 100 million pieces of content are uploaded on TikTok daily, making AI content a small part of the total content on the platform.

TikTok pointed out that this new change will be tested in the coming weeks before being launched globally.

Users will be able to reduce or increase the AI-generated content they view by opening the "manage topic" option in the app, and selecting "AI-generated content".

Jade Nester, the European Director of Public Policy for Safety and Privacy at TikTok, said: "We know from our community that many people enjoy content produced using AI tools, from digital arts to science explanations, and we want to give people the ability to see more, or less of it, based on their own preferences."

TikTok guidelines require content creators to label AI-generated content that appears "realistic," and prohibit harmful deepfakes that target public figures or could lead to crises.

In addition, the app will now add the "AI-generated" watermark to content created using this technology, or reported through an industry-wide initiative called C2PA to identify materials created using AI.

This comes at a time when the emergence of new video creation tools such as "Sora" from "Open AI" and "View 3" from "Google" has led to a massive increase in AI-generated content online.

The Guardian reported in August that nearly 1 in 10 of the fastest-growing channels on "YouTube" globally features only AI-generated video clips. Much of this is categorized as "unwanted AI content," a term used to describe low-quality, mass-produced content that is often illogical or surreal.
