Khaberni - The American President Donald Trump, on Wednesday evening, said that the conflict in Sudan is insane and out of control, announcing his immediate intention to end the crisis at the request of the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Trump said: "Terrible atrocities are happening in Sudan. It has become the most violent place on Earth, and similarly, a humanitarian crisis. There is a desperate need for food, doctors, and everything else."
The American President, who hosted Mohammed bin Salman in Washington, added: "The Saudi Crown Prince asked me to intervene to resolve the crisis in Sudan, and I will do that. Just thirty minutes after Mohammed bin Salman's request, I already started working towards resolving the Sudan crisis."
Trump continued: "Settling the conflict in Sudan was not in my plans, but Prince Mohammed bin Salman encouraged me to care about it. The Saudi Crown Prince will play a strong role in working to end what is happening in Sudan."
The American President said: "Arab leaders from all over the world, including the very respected Saudi Crown Prince who just left the United States, asked me to use the power and influence of the presidency to immediately stop what is happening in Sudan. It is considered a great civilization and culture, unfortunately deteriorated, but it is a culture that can be fixed with cooperation and coordination between countries, including those in the region of immense wealth, who want that to happen."
Trump added: "We will work with Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, and other Middle Eastern partners to end these atrocities, stabilizing Sudan."
The mediation efforts by the Quartet group, Egypt, UAE, America, and Saudi Arabia, to resolve the Sudanese crisis and stop the devastating war being fought by the Sudanese army and rapid support forces since mid-April 2023 are faltering.
The Sudanese army is refusing to accept the humanitarian truce proposed by the Quartet mechanism, before implementing a package of conditions set by the military leadership including the withdrawal of the rapid support from the areas it occupies, or else to continue fighting to drive them out by force.
