Khaberni - The Kuwaiti Public Prosecution announced on Sunday the commencement of investigations in two separate cases related to "espionage crimes and harming the security of the state".
The investigations follow the revelation of individuals' involvement in coordinating with "terrorist organizations" to execute plans that affect the sovereignty and security of the country.
The Public Prosecution stated in a statement issued by the Kuwait News Agency that the investigation team started their work in cooperation with the relevant authorities, where the necessary legal permits were obtained to apprehend the suspects and search their premises.
The procedures resulted in the capture of tools and devices related to the criminal activity, emphasizing proceeding with legal actions against the involved parties in preparation for referring them to justice.
The Kuwaiti Public Prosecutor, Saad Al-Suffran, issued an order to keep "the investigations in the two cases confidential and prohibit the publication or circulation of any information or news related to them by any means," ensuring that the public will be informed of the results immediately after the conclusion of the investigations.
The Public Prosecution confirmed that these actions constitute serious crimes that affect the security of the state and are subject to the severest penalties prescribed by law.
Last week, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced the capture of two terrorist cells affiliated with the "Hezbollah" organization.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior clarified that the first cell included 14 citizens and two of Lebanese nationality, and it was plotted "to target undermining the sovereignty of Kuwait and destabilizing its stability, and to spread chaos and disturb public order".
The second cell consisted of 10 citizens who engaged in prior planning and coordination with external entities, aiming to provide them with coordinates of locations in Kuwait for targeting, posing a direct threat to the country's security.
