Syria condemns Netanyahus illegitimate visit to its territory

Khaberni - Damascus condemned on Wednesday the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the Syrian side of the disengagement line where occupying soldiers are stationed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a release, "The Syrian Arab Republic vehemently condemns the illegitimate visit carried out by the Prime Minister of the occupying Israeli force and the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs...to the south of the Syrian Arab Republic," considering it "a new attempt to impose a de facto situation that contradicts relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions."

On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Israeli forces stationed inside Syrian territory, according to a spokesperson for the occupying government.

The visit occurred in areas that were occupied by Israeli forces last year, beyond the borders defined between the two countries under the disengagement agreement signed in 1974.

Netanyahu was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the occupation, Gideon Sa'ar, the Minister of Defense, Yisrael Katz, the Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, and the head of Shin Bet, David Zini.
