Closure of a Quarry and Arrest of Its Owner for Operating without a License in Ajloun

Khaberni - The Environmental Protection Directorate and the Royal Administration for Environmental Protection in Ajloun Governorate, in cooperation with the Energy Sector Regulatory Commission, closed a quarry in the Hay Numr area in Kofranjah district today, Tuesday. It was operating without a license, and its owner was arrested. The owner was also ordered to remove all machinery from the site and to rectify the situation due to the presence of cliffs approximately 10 meters high, posing a risk to public safety.

This action is part of ongoing campaigns carried out on stone quarries in the governorate / Kofranjah district to check their compliance with the licensing conditions issued by the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission or to address those operating without a license. These quarries extract quantities of stone for sale, and there are piles of debris scattered around the quarries and surrounding areas.
